Transformative Relationships

We live in a culture that sometimes forgets what true friendship looks like. Fewer people seem to believe that relationships across boundaries of difference are even possible. At MDM, we know that these mutual relationships in the midst of diversity aren’t only possible but they are also deeply desirous, necessary, and the precise places we are often most likely to encounter the image of God in one another. At MDM, we cultivate “friendly, empty space” where hostility can be converted into hospitality. One of the best ways to do this is through recreation and play. We see transformative relationships take shape through Ballin Blazers basketball, Druk International Shito Ryu (DISKA) Karate, Community Badminton and other avenues of recreation in our gym space at Memorial Drive Ministries.
